About
Beckhoff's TwinCAT Runtime for Linux is based on Beckhoff's own Linux distribution, built from Debian with a Linux real-time kernel. It allows several TwinCAT runtimes to run on one industrial PC, supporting container technologies such as Docker, Podman, or LXC, and enabling hardware consolidation and virtual PLC implementations. Initially offered on the Arm-based CX82x0 and CX9240 Embedded PCs, it expands operating system choice alongside Windows and TwinCAT/BSD.
