Reality check

A demo shows what may be possible. These points help judge whether the product fits day-to-day use.

Works well when
  • Mapping, inspection and coverage of large or elevated areas
  • Repeatable routes with defined take-off and landing zones
  • Evidence capture that is safer or faster than sending people
What to check
  • Local flight rules, permits and restricted airspace
  • Wind, rain, battery swaps and communications
  • Image analysis, report export and work-order integrations
Not a magic solution
  • A replacement for a defined inspection process
  • Reliable autonomy in every weather condition
  • Permission to ignore privacy or safety boundaries

About

Fotokite Sigma is an actively tethered drone built by Fotokite for firefighters, search and rescue teams, and law enforcement. It launches, flies, and lands with a single button press and requires no piloting, and it is recognized by aviation authorities as a safer alternative to non-actively tethered and free-flying public safety drone systems. The system offers wide, zoom, and radiometric thermal cameras on a three-axis gimbal, streams live color and thermal video to remote viewers, and is available in Transport Case and Rooftop Box configurations.
