Robotic Arms
92 tools
Robotic arms span education, research, collaborative applications and industrial production. Compare the payload, reach, repeatability, speed and operating environment required by the task, then account for tooling, vision, safeguarding, control interfaces and local support. A collaborative arm is not automatically fence-free: the complete application, tool, workpiece, speed and risk assessment determine the safeguards required.

FAQ
Desktop vs industrial robotic arms?
Desktop arms usually target education, research and prototyping. Industrial arms are designed around production duty, environmental requirements, functional safety and system integration. Compare manufacturer-rated payload, repeatability, duty and certification rather than size alone.
Are cobots worth it for small manufacturers?
It depends on task stability, cycle time, tooling, safeguarding and integration cost. Repetitive machine-tending, screwdriving and inspection can be good fits, but the complete application still needs a risk assessment; the cobot label alone does not make it fence-free.
What hidden costs should I expect?
Budget for end-of-arm tooling, vision and sensors, mounting, cabling, safeguarding, integration, commissioning, training, maintenance and spares. The mix varies too much by task for one percentage estimate to be reliable.
